Making The Cheese

The Lubborn Creamery is situated in the valley of Cricket St Thomas in South Somerset.

This is one of the best dairy farming regions in the UK, with ideal soils and a good rainfall producing lush sweet grazing.
Our cows milk comes from Dairy Farmers of Britain members’ farms in a twelve mile radius of the creamery – all of which are compliant with the stringent standards of the National Dairy Farm Assured Scheme.
Milk is collected daily from these farms to guarantee fresh milk with the minimum of agitation in transit, which is critical for producing the best taste and texture for soft cheese. Similarly, our goats milk is collected from eight dedicated farms all local to us in Somerset and Dorset.
